Happy Mothers Day
Today I'm going to enjoy the day with my kids who I just adore. Each one brings gifts that are immeasurable to me, and have provided me with a job, inspiration, love, smile and great trampoline jumping through good times and bad. Today is bittersweet because it's my first year without my mom who I adored. Nothing is quite the same with my first family without her and in that process of re-inventing myself with that first family, it's forcing me to mature and see situations for what they really are. Pretty deep for a holiday but there it is.
I've decided to enjoy the day with my kids, and eat what I like. I made some semi-gourmet burgers yesterday ( took meat and flattened two sides. I made two kinds of specialty hamburgers: 1) cajun- mixed cajun spices with meat and put mexican cheese in the middle of the two patties, then pressed the two and closed the seam so the cheese is on the inside, 2) rosemary burgers. Mixed rosemary and garlic poder with the meat and sprinkled Boursin cheese in the middle of the two sides and pressed together. Its either going to be fabulous or gross...we'll see.
