I apologize for being late on this blog...holiday weekends are always a little crazy for us. Today we had Thanksgiving at my husband's Mom's house so I made sure I got a work out in before we left for dinner. The funny thing is the fields had just been plowed which can actually make for a crazy, insane workout. It's kind of like mini hills that are all mud so everytime you step it feels like several pounds of mud are clinging to your shoes. My husband warned me that it would be tough workout but I wanted it and I didn't remember it being that bad in past years. I guess I hadn't factored in the massive amount of rain we just had a day or two ago. Walking the perimeter of our fields usually takes about an hour. However, we had only gotten 1/4 of the fields done and it was already going on 30 minutes. The mud was just taking us forever to get through and I was exhausted. I started making my way back to the house because I knew it would be at least another 15 minutes. To the right of our house is a natural water table and even the farmer had opted not to plow this section of field. It looked enticing to me because the dried up soybeans made the ground appear to be flat and dry. I had just started to venture over there when my husband warned me not to go over there because looks can be deceiving. Why do I have to be so stubborn? Five steps later and my feet were completely immersed in mud. It became like concrete up to my knees. I fell over because my feet were so stuck and what does my husband do? Take pictures! By this point I'm having a full on meltdown. I was so tired I could no longer pull my own legs out of the mud and I was starting to get a full on panic. Of course this only makes my hubby only laugh harder as tears start to come down my face. Ok, it's definitely funny now but at that moment home while only a few yards away felt impossible. But, hey, at least I got a good workout!
