Everyone is aware about germs and how important it is to wash your hands after you use a restroom or before eating. One place you may not think of is your kitchen sponge. The moisture that sits in the sponge is a breeding ground for germs. Studies show the average sponge has up to a million more germs than your toilet seat

There is a solution. Dampen the sponge (I have two sponges- one for counters/tables and one for pots and pans) and microwave it for 60 seconds. Be careful when removing because if taken out immediately, it can be quite hot.
I also put mine through the dishwasher at least twice a week (with five kids I run the dishwasher 1-2 times per day). Keep healthy!
